The Steps Up Chehalem Valley Internship program is a 9-week paid summer internship from June 19th – August 17th, 2017 servingHigh School and College age students, 16–24 years old. The Internship includes four hours of paid Professional Development Training every week on Wednesday that will help prepare students for a bright future regardless of their career path. The program is modeled after the award-winning Climax internship program.
The program is a 9-week paid summer internship running from June 19th – August 17th, 2017. The program serves High School and College age students, 16–24 years old. The Internship includes four hours of paid Professional Development Training every week that will help prepare you for a bright future regardless of your career interests.
There are a limited number of positions available. The hiring team places interns by matching employers’ needs with interns’ skills, abilities and interests. The program does not guarantee where an intern will be placed. There will be more intern candidates than positions available.
Pay will be negotiated directly with the employer you work for. Most likely, you will earn minimum wage ($9.75 per hour currently). Your specific hours will also be directly negotiated between you and your employer. All employers are asked to provide a minimum of 30 hours per week unless otherwise negotiated with the intern.
The CVCC program will include: Customer Service, Public Speaking, Résumé Preparation, Interviewing Skills, Social Media for Networking and Job Search, Personal Finance, First Aid and CPR Certification, Social Consciousness, and more. Professional Development Training will be held weekly on Wednesdays and are mandatory for program participation.
